The band based right here in Southern California recently released their sophomore album thanks to Origami Music – the label end of the fabulous record store Origami Vinyl in Echo Park.
The pensive and brooding track is perfectly paired with the visuals in the video – which oddly made me realize that I hadn’t shaved my legs in about two weeks. Thanks for the inspiration to finally break out the Venus Heather and Ben!
Crocodiles recently held up residency at The Echo for a two week stint supporting Fol Chen. The San Diego natives have had a long and bouncy road but now a 5 pieces fleshed out with drums, bass, and keys Crocodiles seem poised to be going places. FINALLY.
At first glance their sound is very reminiscent of Black Rebel Motorcycle Club while the vocals – unapologetic and raw evoke that of Sid Vicious of The Sex Pistols. Their fuzz drenched tunes made for a sound guys worst nightmare in The Echo but you could hear something special in the treble laden mix.
Crocodiles recently offered up an entire EP Fires of Comparison for free download. Not their usual melodic fair but a nice ambient companion to their sophomore album – Sleep Forever which will be out next week on Fat Possum.
Crocodiles will be heading out on tour this fall including dates in the UK and US dates with Golden Triangle and Dirty Beaches. Highly recommend checking the out when they come through your area.

We recently recorded a new 4 song EP called Silver Cities with producer Luke Ehret. Simple truth is manufacturing records – ESPECIALLY vinyl is expensive. The Monolators have been putting out vinyl, paying entirely out of pocket, for years. No label support, no rich parents, just hardwork and the payoff when a fan buys a record at a show. We do it for you guys.
We want to share our newest release with you guys and in order to do that we have to raise $1600 in production costs for the vinyl. To help with costs we’ve set up a Kickstarter page where you can pledge $$ to help us meet our goal. The Morning Benders got it right. The band recently unveiled their new music video for their track “All Day Day Light” off their record “Big Echo.” This album has more plays in my itunes than any other and this track is my favorite off the record!
Band will be heading out on a US headline tour this fall including a date at The Henry Fonda Theater October 14th.Better be there!
