Tennis – Baltimore

Not sure if you’re aware of this but there is quite the burgeoning indie scene going on right now in Colorado. It could be directly related to the recent influx of tech jobs into the state + great selection of state schools has created a demand for indie rock. Could also be all those long winters creating the perfect environment to be shut in all day working on songs.

For whatever reason  Colorado has been pouring out a massive amount of amazing bands in the past few months. I grew up in Utah and I could not be more pleased to finally see a productive music scene coming out of the mountain states. Expect to see an on salught of posts featuring Colorado bands in the coming weeks.

One of my favorites currently breaking out of the Rockies is Denver based husband and wife duo TENNIS. Their songs evoke the nostalgic vibes of 60s pop and girl groups  with all the lo-fi fuzz that puts them in the same class as contemporaries Dum Dum Girls, Best Coast, And Wavves.

Download “Baltimore” below from their forthcoming 7″ EP out soon on one of my favorite labels Underwater Peoples. Pick up the 7 inch right here.
